Getting so BIG!

Yep. It's still February and I'm writing another post! Getting better, I hope! The last several days have been a little crazy...the little monkey man has had fever since Friday so we went to the doctor this morning. His normal doctor's on vacation, so it was some other lady. She thinks he has the flu. Poor little man.
Anyways, our little man turned 10 months old on Valentine's Day!! Soooo hard to believe he is so big. Seriously. Where has the time gone?? He's getting to be such a little boy. He understands so much and it is so much fun to watch him learn. He picks up on things so fast! Who knew that such a little guy could bring us so much joy? And to think we're going to have another one in like 27 weeks!

This is a short post because having a sick baby means sleeping whenever you have a chance! So off to bed we go. :) Here's a couple pics of our little monkey on Valentine's day. We went to the greenhouse to take Daddy a smoothie and have a little visit.

Determined.

So, I'm not sure how many times that I've been "determined" to keep this blog up, but I figure it's a new year and I'll try again! I'd like to be able to keep our friends and family that aren't here to see our little monkey grow updated! AND as our second little peanut grows, keep y'all up on him/her as well!

This last year has been so amazing with our little man coming into the world and living in Lubbock has been wonderful. It's so great to have so much family in town! Rogan has been thoroughly spoiled by his grandparents and great-grandparents. I'm not going to try and catch up on all that I haven't written about, but rather pick up right here and keep going! Rogan will be 10 MONTHS OLD next week!! He's been healthy for the last few weeks, which has been a blessing. After an ear infection, 2 bouts of hand foot mouth virus, and then mono the second week of the year, it's been quite a ride. Next week he will have some more blood work done because when he was really sick a few weeks ago they did a bunch of blood work(which is how they found out he had mono) but his lipid panel came back with his triglycerides ridiculously high--574! They should be below 99. So I'm praying that they are normal and it was just a lab error! Anyway. He's such a happy and easy little baby, it's hard to see him sick! Right now he has a little cough but the doctor said he was fine. Maybe it's just this crazy weather we've been having! The windchill last week was subzero, then Saturday was beautiful, then it snowed yesterday, was nice today, and then another arctic blast is blowing in tomorrow night. BRRR!

Tonight one of my best friends had to go to the hospital to deliver her baby after they found that there was no longer a heart beat. My heart aches so much for her and her husband. This is not the first time for this to happen to them and I simply can not imagine the pain that they are feeling yet again. I know God is in control but it is so hard not to just ask why? Why does this have to happen to them AGAIN!? And yet our lives and the lives of our babies are not our own. They are his from the very beginning. This is something I have to remind myself daily as I watch our little boy grow and fight against worries and fears that something could happen to him or to the little peanut that grows inside of me right now. I know He is sovereign and I know He is in control, but letting go completely is so hard.

Well, it's late and the monkey is in bed and peanut(or rather fig--that's how big he/she is this week) is causing some ickiness, so I'm thinking of hitting the sack early.

I'm soooo going to keep this up! You just wait! I'll leave you with a pic...

We made it!

Ok, so here's the scoop. The day after we got back from the successful house finding trip to Lubbock, our buyer backed out! Sad day, but we got another one in less than 2 weeks and were back on track to move....we closed on our house on March 9, and drove out of town to Lubbock! We're finally in our new place and I am DONE traveling all over the place--FINALLY! We're in the process of fixing up the house, unpacking, and getting ready for baby boy! He's gonna be here in 6 weeks!( or maybe less!). Anyway, we just got the internet and all that good stuff hooked up, so I'll actually be keeping up with this thing. I'll post pics of the new casa as soon as it's done!

Lubbock!

Ok, so Allen and I came to Lubbock for the weekend on a quest to find somewhere to live...and it only took one day! We left thursday after my last doctor's visit with my obgyn there in FW :( and got here around 4:30 or so....and it's a good thing we left thursday because snow was already covering everything and driving that night would not have been good. We started our search on Friday morning, and aside from a reeeeally quick lunch stop at the parent's house for about 10 minutes, we were driving around all day long looking at houses. We had found several possibilities and the next to last one was around 725 sq ft but only $525....we talked about it on our way to the last house for the day, thinking that it would be a very "cozy" house, but that it was just for a year or two and our ultimate goal was to save money and get out of debt, so it became the top of our list of houses. Or so we thought. Allen's grandmother had called us saying that her best friend was moving to Austin and they were wanting to rent their house...but we were pretty certain that it just wouldn't work out because they could get so much more for their house than what we could pay. But we agreed to at least go and look at it. We were prepared to politely tell them that it was just too much for us. So as we drove from the 725 sq ft house to meet Allen's Nana at her friend's house, we didn't get our hopes up or anything. As soon as we walked in we knew it was out of the range we were willing to spend. Nana's friend, Edna, showed us all around the house, which was absolutely lovely, and big! The shocker came when they told us how much they wanted to rent it to us for and I'm sure we had the look of pure shock and disbelief as we stared back at them! We told them that they could get much more than that if they were to rent it to someone else, but they insisted that they wanted us to rent it and wanted someone who they knew would take care of the house. CRAZY! seriously. We tried to argue with them about it but they would not have it. They insisted that we were an answer to prayer and as it turns out they were an answer to ours. Who knew we would find such a great place to live!? I know that through this Edna and JB will be a true blessing to us we hope to be the same to them. Anyway, we drove away in silence as both of us were in too much of a shock to say anything. I kept thinking I'd wake up to realize that I'd laid down for a nap and had a wonderful dream. But it was real!! Anyway, after we left I realized that I hadn't taken a single picture of the house so I went back yesterday to take a few...I'll post those this week when I get home! Anyway, we were able to just relax and hang out with the fam the rest of the weekend....so nice!

Well, I should go start packing up our things so we can head back to fort worth. More to come later!

And we're back!

Soooo, it's only been about forever since I've updated this thing...but figured it was about time that I start at it again! I've mostly just been posting to my photo blog, but figure I can do more personal stuff on this blog, especially with baby boy on his way! I don't want to overload my photo blog with pregnancy and then new baby stuff every day!

Soooo, here's to trying to keep up with this thing more!

Later today should mark a day of relief--we found a buyer for our house!! I'm just waiting for the contract to show up in my inbox and then it can be all official and I can breathe easy knowing we get to move to lubbock before baby comes....ahhhh.

I should have started this think back up as soon as we got pregnant again, but better late than never! Can you believe Allen and I will be married for 2 YEARS in just a couple weeks!? Craziness! Man how time flies!

Anyway, I'm now 24 weeks and counting! Baby is growing steadily and last week Allen felt him kick for the first time! It was so fun!

I'll have to take an updated belly pic to post soon!

Anyway, that's it for today--my brain is too excited to do much writing!

Our Little Blueberry

So for those of you who didn't know, at the beginning of April we found out we were pregnant and couldn't even contain ourselves as the joy just overflowed! We'd been trying for a few months and just couldn't believe it. Our hearts were just filled with love for our new little life growing inside of me. Last week our baby was the size of a blueberry! Amazing how such a tiny thing was already forming into a little baby and had a heartbeat. Last Tuesday we had our first appointment, and we were set to have our first sonogram this Thursday to hear that little heartbeat for the first time...however this past Thursday I had to go back to the doctor's office to get some more bloodwork done due to some things that had started to happen and Friday we found out that we had lost our little blueberry. You never how much it hurts until it happens to you. The nurse called me on the phone just as I was pulling out of the parking lot after having lunch with Allen. I pulled back around, he drove us home and we cried ourselves to sleep in each others arms. Never before have I felt such loss as I have now. We pray that through this loss, God will draw us even closer to Him and to each other, that we would find comfort that only He can provide. We never realized how many people we know have gone through the same thing. There are times when we are doing fine, and other times when it just hits you out of nowhere. But "we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,a]"> forB)"> those who are called according to his purpose."

We have decided to plant a blueberry hedge in our backyard in memory of our little blueberry. I'll post some pics once we get them planted!

Thank you for all of your love and support through this tough season in our lives!

My man...

Ok, so for those of you who check this blog and it never seems to be updated, I'm sorry! I have enough trouble keeping up with one blog...you can check out this one.
